Kosy people donate 660 million VND towards the Central region

With the spirit of “mutual support”, “the good leaves protect the torn leaves” and the culture of “Kosy people for the community”, Kosy Group has launched a movement to donate at least one day’s salary to all employees to join hands with the people in the Central region overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. Within 2 days, Kosy Group has internally raised 660 million VND.

On the morning of October 22, 2020, Mr. Nguyen Duc Diep – Permanent Deputy General Director of Kosy Group on behalf of Kosy Group’s staff and employees gave an amount of VND 660 million to support the Central region through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Diep, due to the urgency of sharing difficulties and overcoming the consequences of floods, Kosy Group’s employees enthusiastically responded to the Group’s call and urgently made donations of a-few-day salary. “That is the heart of Kosy people towards the Central region. With the spirit of “the intact leaves protect the tattered ones”, Kosy Group’s employees wish to contribute to the fight against natural disasters with flood-affected people, helping them overcome difficulties, overcome damage and soon stabilize life”, said Deputy General Director of Kosy Group.

In the past few days, heavy rain has spread over a large area, causing severe damage to many localities in the central region such as Thua Thien Hue, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, and Quang Binh…. On October 21, at a conference to direct the response to storms, rain and floods in the central provinces, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung – Head of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said: Although there was an early forecast and the whole system intervened very aggressively, but with unusual developments of storms, floods, landslides in the Central and Central Highlands provinces in the past time, causing the heaviest damage in the 5 recent years.

Currently, large floods have appeared on all 16 main river routes in the Central region. In which, there are 5 flood routes exceeded historical levels: Kien Giang River in Quang Binh; Hieu river, Thach Han river, O Lau river in Quang Tri; Bo river in Thua Thien Hue. Meanwhile, storm No. 8 is heading towards the Central region and is forecasted to continuously increase in intensity in the coming days.

Receiving the donation from Kosy Group employees, Mr. Hau A Lenh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, recognized the heart of Kosy Group employees when joining hands with the people in the Central region to overcome the flood. “We will transfer this amount to the people in the Central region as soon as possible to promptly overcome the severe consequences caused by natural disasters,” Mr. Lenh said.
